@Alan - Background thumbnails

Hi, Alan, I have edited the existing thumbnails for the background to be my height as a child in the animation what do you think.

  1. Ok, at the moment you are not capturing something very important in your drawings. What I think you should do (for the train station as a test environment) is to firstly, make a basic (very basic) train platform, rails, station walls, and figure(s)(like fisher price figures) in Maya so you can position a camera and then what you see. Secondly, find out what you're trying to draw by going out and looking at it. I realise that your film is set in a different time period but there are shots (angles) and details (like signage, clocks, benches etc) that you could draw if you went out and looked at it. You could visit an actual station and take photos (where possible/get permission). Look again at the perspective and details in Paddington too. What I am getting at here is that sometimes drawing is not the problem...knowing what you're 'actually' trying to draw is. There is a famous quote about illustrating the 'bizarre-ness' of environments. To sum it up it states you have to go out and draw the world because "You just can't make this crap up".
