Hi Laura, You might have overthought this one a bit. You can make the glasses (a hard surface product) with different pieces of geometry. Two objects for the glass frames (two rings/circles), two for the arms, and one for the bridge. That's how they are made in the real world. Then you put all the pieces in to one group. Connecting them ruins the shape. Product (hard surface) modelling is different to the organic modelling. Remember the 'Scooter' model in year one?
